Okay, the question is asking, which do you generally prefer... songs that are first on the setlist of each album, introducing things? Or songs that close their albums, concluding things?
Try not to automatically go with your favourite songs... try to consider them as openers and closers... do they do their job properly?
To help you along with your decision...
Showbiz[/u] Opener: Sunburn Closer: Hate This And I'll Love You
Origin of Symmetry Opener: New Born Closer: Megalomania
Hullabaloo will be skipped
Absolution Opener: Apocalypse Please Closer: Ruled by Secrecy
Black Holes & Revelations Opener: Take A Bow Closer: Knights of Cydonia
I hate to say it, but I'm again... undecided.
Sunburn triumphs over HTAILY in my opinion, combining a great mix of piano and lyrics. New Born and Megalomania are tied... both completely different and both completely fabulous at opening and closing. Apocalypse Please is a fantastic introduction but I prefer Ruled by Secrecy as a song... and Ruled by Secrecy is also a fantastic quieter close in my opinion. Take A Bow and Knights of Cydonia do their jobs just as well as each other for me.

This was another tough choice again but my overall preference goes to the openers. All the songs listed do a fantastic "job".
Regarding the Showbiz and OoS openers and closers I can't really say much as I didn't listen to those two albums for long enough. I think Apocalypse please is fantastic, though Ruled by Secrecy isn't half as bad, while Take a Bow is absolutely smashing and I preffer it over Knights of Cydonia.
My overall impression on the Muse albums is that they are very profssional and very well put together, all the songs have their perfect place

Aah another undecided opinion. I absolutely love all the albums Muse have ever done, but the way they choose to open and close them are the best aspects of it for me.
Showbiz was an amazing album, and the intro to Sunburn instantly grabs your attention and the build up to the chorus again is fantastic. The album goes through fast and slow paced songs which really helps to the build up to Hate This and I'll Love You, so for that album i'd have to say that Sunburn does the better job.
OoS is just simply mind-blowing, with the opener of New Born. The gentle piano intro followed by the heavy riff is just one of those "WOW" moments, absolutely fantastic. Megalomania is one of my favourite songs by Muse and ends the album perfectly, very mellow and sort of distant which is a direct contrast to the opener, but I say Megalomania does its job better here.
For Absolution, both opener and closer are lighter less riff-orientated tracks so there isn't that much differentiation there, but I think Apocalypse Please does the job better on this album.
For BHaR, both tracks are simply amazing, with a great mix of instruments and ideas. Knights slightly overtakes Take A Bow for me though on this album.
So it's a tie between the opening and closing tracks for me i'm afraid.
