A very difficult choice in my opinion.
1) Absolution Absolution contains some of my favourite tracks and the classics and it's the core of the series of albums they've released for me.
2) Black Holes & Revelations It steers away from safety and experiments with amazing idea, and I think it confirms the fact that Muse have a potentially endless future ahead of them, if they can change and adapt like they did with this album.
I'm completely undecided.

I'm afraid I can't make a choice. I love both albums just as much. Absolution has one of my favorite all time songs: Butterflies and Hurricanes, and many other brilliant songs, such as Sing for Absolution or Histerya. But Blackholes and Revelation is just as fantastic and I can't overlook songs like Supermassive Blackholes and Starlight. I can't choose

I cannot choose either, argh! I love all their albums equally. I think Absolution showed their fans that they're still rooted in what made them such a hit, but Black Holes is really showing an interest in them wanting to get new fans and broaden their limits, which I completely believe they can do.
I also think that BlackHoles is going back to their Showbiz-era experimentation days, which is absolutely fantastic. For example the orchestra in City of Delusion and the trumpets in Knights of Cydonia.
I hope the next album continues to a high quality.

I partially agree with your BHAR-Showbiz link, though I'd say Black Holes & Revelations goes far beyond anything Showbiz ever accomplished, in terms of their experimental style. Like you said, the orchestra in City and the trumpets in Knights... I simply couldn't find anything in Showbiz that could match their unique experimental feel to that level. Chaz Chaz

There's nothing in Showbiz to match that level because they've advanced so much in terms of their music and their skill and willingness to experiment. It's just nice to see them going back to their Showbiz-esque roots and beginning to experiment with unusual music methods again.

I can't choose! Both these albums are fantastic. I think the core of their music, for me, would be Origin of Symmetry, since it's the first album of theirs that I bought and listened to. It's hard to say which I love more, because they both have a different feeling to them.
See, Muse is just amazing. ;D

Welcome Screenager ;D Feel free to post around ;D
Reno, which songs from BHR you dislike? I think I rememer you didn't like Starlight, are there any others?
Since I posted here for the first time, I managed to decide which I like better: Absolution all the way any day. It's pure perfection from beginning to end.

Mm.. yeah that might the only one. I'm not too keen on Invincible, too, as you know. And, yeeah agreed! Absolution is a very strong album. ;D Black Holes...... does have its strong moments, but not as much in other areas. It's a very iffy album. ;D

For me, Absolution is what made me begin to love Muse. So, I had to choose them. It has so many songs that I could listen to over and over, for ever basically.
Not to say that Black Holes and Revelations doesn't. I mean it also has so many songs that I can listen to over and over. But in my opinion, I love Absolution more, because it's the one I can listen to beginning to end for three hours straight without skipping any songs.
While with BHAR, I can't.

Yeeah you think like I do. The way I see it... Absolution is one of those albums where every song is great, and just a few average ones. Black Holes, as I've already said, does have just few great songs. Most of the other songs are average, and the rest I just plain don't like.

Exactly, I think it's safe to assume that most people think that BHAR has a few songs that they just don't like. Like for me, it's Soldier's Poem. I just don't like that song.

Mm.. I think we're in the minority actually. Because it was Black Holes that got them as famous as they are today.
