This is the chronicle of the first Muse concert in Romania, as experienced by myself. The past months have been surreal for me. From the day I've read that Muse was coming, until the concert day, there hasn't been one single day without me dreaming about the concert night. 16.30 - Despite my numerous begs to leave earlier, we leave house only at this moment. 17.20 - The National Rugby Stadium. I was amazed to see the size of the queue. My natural reaction was wondering at what hour did the very first persons arrive, as it was still much too early for that crowd. We got our place in line, watching how behind us it people kept pouring in. It was already beyond my expectations. I was beginning to feel awkward, I was too seriously dressed and rather old compared to the youngsters there. While trying to cope with the crowd pushing and trying to cut the line, Map of the Problematique" suddenly begins playing. Did Muse arrive so early and are practising, or are there just sound tests? I try hard but don't manage to see if Matt's voice can be heard. 18.00 - The hour at which the gates were supposed to open. But they didn't. The crowd was getting more and more anxious. After around 20 minutes we start moving and a miracle makes it that we enter Sector A so quickly we still have time to pick good places. I find myself around 6-7 persons behind the fence, right at the centre of the scene. 19.00 - a bit past this time almost everyone had settled in. The warm-up was made by Rock DJ. A little over 19.30 the proper opening, Brett Anderson, former lead singer of Suede. I have never listened to any of his songs or to any of Suede's songs, but I liked what I heard. The crowd was exctatic. Here are some pictures of the moment, sorry for the poor quality. - Brett 1Brett 2Brett 3

20.20 - Brett concludes his opening act. Everyone is anxiously waiting for them, for Muse, watching how the scene is prepared for their arrival. Dom's drums are revealed, the marvelous piano is brought in, the instruments are tuned. I believe Matt's guitar had some problems, as it took very long until the technicians were pleased with it and left the stage. Then the lights lowered and... 21.00 - Muse enters the stage and begin their magic. First song: Knights of CydoniaNext Map of the ProblematiqueThen, the crowd goes crazy during HysteriaFollows my personal favorite, Butterflies and Hurricanes. It was amazing. Here is the recording of the moment. Though the sound is awful, you'll have to take my word for granted, it is Butterflies: ButterfliesThe magical moments continue with Sing for AbsolutionI am not 100% of the order of the next songs, I was much too fascinated about it and it seems I forgot, but the other songs they played were: Supermassive Blackhole, Feeling Good, Apocalypse Please, Invincible, Soldier's Poem, Starlight, Time is Running Out, New Born. Edit: They also played Citizen Erased, I think it was after Sing for Absolution. I forgot all about it. Here are more photos of these moments: (the crowd during Soldier's Poem) Feeling Good - the beginningStarlight - a fragmentMy favorite moment so far was Time is Running Out. I dare say it was everyone's favorite, as the crowd went crazy. Matt even let us sing a chorus all by ourselves ;D Well, to be honest, there hasn't been one song where the crowd didn't sing along. For about 5 minutes they left the stage, but we got them out for an encore, a magical one, starting with Take a BowPlug In Baby manage to make the crowd hysterical once again, leading to the grand finale with Stockholm Syndrome. It was so cute when at the end Matt lied down on the stage and continued playing his guitar ;D Dom was the last one to exit the stage and promised they'll be back. "See you next time, cheers!" The night was truly magical, despite some voices saying there was room for much better. It was dream which lasted too shortly.

I was actually hoping it was something sincere, not a band cliche Hopefully they come again on the next tour. Dont be jealous Reno *hugs*. Can't deny that I know how you feel, I felt the same way this summer when the Wembley concerts took place. Now I'm looking forward for a Muse interview on TV tomorrow. Hopefully the station it's on will work fine tomorrow, it tends to be really really buggy. >.>

Wow nice. Good to see they still love the old stuff. Can't see anything from Showbiz though.

I wish they would have played Unintended instead of Citizen Erased, like in Greece. And they should have totally included Muscle Museum and Bliss in the tour

Oh yeah! No Bliss! Er... what do you mean "in Greece"? Two days before coming to Bucharest they were in Athens, and in their concert there they played Unintended. But I guess I shoulh be happy with Citizen Erased, it seems that in Belgrad, on Sunday, they just cut the 17 songs to 16 and removed that too. Anyway, there's something that bugs me. Not trying to sound negative, I love the guys, but I found them a bit arrogant? I don't know how they act in other concerts, but their interaction with the public was very poor, almost non-existent. They were there, performing, doing one perfect job, but ... that's just about it. I was expecting a bit more interaction than an occasional "thanks"

Heh you mean you wanted Matt to talk to you a bit? Yeah probably... well they're just there to play the music I suppose. Surely he DID say other things? I mean no he's never had, like, long conversations with the crowd, but said stuff other than just "thanks".
Edit: Woot! Almost 100 posts.

I mean no he's never had, like, long conversations with the crowd, but said stuff other than just "thanks". Edit: Woot! Almost 100 posts. well, as far as I remember, other words included "cheers", "thank you very much", "you've been a great crowd" and he actually had a pretty failed attempt at saying "Mulţumesc" (which is the romanian word for thank you). Oh, and before Soldier's Poem he asked us to light our mobiles and swing them in the air, that was the longest sentence. Other than that... I know they're supposed to be there and sing greatly but idk... Plus I don't think I've ever seen anyone so concentrated like Chris, I don't think he smiled once

Hehe I think Chris might have stage frights. He just keeps his head down and does what he has to do. ;D

Hehe I think Chris might have stage frights. He just keeps his head down and does what he has to do. ;D Yeah, exactly, he kept his head down most of the time, he barely even looked at the audience, yet alone interact in some way. He would only look at Matt or Dom in between songs when they improvised stuff.

Well as far as I'm concerned he's there to play the music and that's it. (Well that's what Prog fans believe anyway. ;D) Interracting with the crowd it's Matt's job. I'll probably be excactly like Chris if I'm ever on stage.
